As of August 30th, Instagram is stepping away from the classic swipe up feature on stories. A feature which has allowed creators and businesses to direct their audience as a call to action to a third party website.
Instagram is instead launching the new Link Sticker feature which the app started testing in June but from August 30th , its rolling out more broadly.
The Link Sticker feature can be used by anyone who had the swipe up option before and offers the influencers more creative control by letting them customise the size and placement of the link for maximum engagement.
Viewers will now also be able to react and comment to the stories which feature the new link sticker, just like any other stories, unlike before.
