FESTIVAL FASHION 2024
Even though the summer is coming to an end, this year has seen some absolutely killer collabs between artists and designers at some of the best festivals in the UK. I’m a huge lover of music and fashion so marry the two together and I’m one happy girl, and I’ve felt endlessly inspired by following the looks from various festivals throughout the summer.
Feels like a while ago now, but I attended Glastonbury this year and my favourite looks included:
- Little Simz dripping in Ed Hardy, including my favourite piece which was a custom kilt
- Olivia Dean in Chopova Lowena with the most beautiful beaded top with an image of her grandmother on the front, which was such a special moment.
SILLY ART
Seems like such a weird category but I feel like for the last couple years I always feel so inspired by what I can only describe as ‘silly’ art. I absolutely love the work of Babak Ganjei and David Shrigley, and feel so inspired by just the need to create something light-hearted and fun.
I think it’s almost a reminder that not everything has to be deep and meaningful to be worthwhile, it can just have the purpose of making people smile. Feel like this trend in art has trickled into all different mediums like ceramics and fashion and as a deeply unserious person, I am so here for it.
MILLIE SAVAGE JEWELLERY
Recently got a new piece from Millie Savage and she’s just my absolute favourite jeweller, her pieces are so unique, I love a wonky, imperfectly perfect piece of jewellery. She uses form and colour in such a stunning way, trust me I’d be dripping in the stuff if I could.
CHARLI XCX BY PETRA COLLINS FOR SKIMS
Petra Collins has been one of my favourite photographers for many years, I believe she is one of the very first photographers work I followed when I was around 15-16 years old. She was the biggest inspiration for me to get into taking pictures.
Her recent work for Skims with Charli XCX is a new favourite, with her signature dream like style coming through, the lighting and set is so ethereal and beautiful and I am just such a huge fan of this work. Definitely inspiring me to play around with water and texture within my model work in the months to come.
AUTUMN COLOURS & FASHION
I am a summer baby through and through, HOWEVER… I am starting to get really excited about the thoughts of the colours and fashion that autumn will bring. Tartan, deep blues & maroons, bows, ruffles, scrunchies, long coats. Particularly loving Damson Madder’s autumn drop, and MAY have picked up a couple bits for myself that I can’t wait to wear!
TIKTOK / INSTA CREATORS
Currently loving a select few creators who are keeping me inspired at the moment – it’s interesting to see in the last few years how much my inspiration has shifted onto looking towards creators as well as looking at things like art, nature and everyday things.
I’ve currently been loving:
- Carmen (@zigs_mom) because she’s so fun with colour and texture within her content.
- Jessi Regina (@by.regiina) because of her creativity within her looks and layering.
- Betsie (@betsiebb) because she just wears the cutest looks and her photography is gorg.
ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND
Not at all a new movie, but I recently rewatched it for the 100th time and it just re-inspires me every time. I love the plotline, however it’s mainly just for the way it’s filmed and graded. Feels like a work of art that is continuing to stand the test of time. I just really love it and keep going back to orange and blue as a colour combination – I’m obsessed with colour theory.
