The BAFTAs is one of the biggest nights in the British film calendar and a host of home grown stars and Hollywood talent are due to shimmy down the red carpet for the prestigious event this Sunday.

The exclusive red-carpet event, which will be held at London’s Royal Opera House will see some of the biggest stars turn out in force, from the likes of Stephen Fry, Jessica Chastain, Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and much more. Although the awards and talent recognition are highly respected and appreciated amongst the industry, it’s the red carpet fashion which most certainly always grabs the headlines.

So in honour of this Sunday’s ceremony, we’ve chosen our Top 15 Best BAFTA dresses of all time, we hope you enjoy them as much as we did…

During her Bridget Jones days, Renee Zellweger (above) worked her floor-skimming long black dress (LDB) at the 2006 BAFTA’s designed by Carolina Herrera, whilst Emilia Fox shimmered in gold, vintage-look Luisa Beccaria tiered dress (2012). Always one to lead the fashion pack, starlet Sienna Miller ensured she turnt heads at the 2007 BAFTA’s in her Emanuel Ungaro gown and completely stole the show, whilst model Laura Bailey looked cute and colourful in fabulous Chanel dress (2012). Silver screen darling and Great Gatsby’s Carey Mulligan looked elegant in Vionnet gown, which received mixed reviews at the 2010 BAFTA’s however her monochrome look made our list.

Cate Blanchett epitomized Hollywood glamour (below) in her gorgeous Armani column dress at the 2005 BAFTA’s, which hugged the actresses curves in all the right places. We’re also absolutely loving eccentric Helena Bonham-Carter’s deep blue, gothic creation by Giles Deacon whilst Kate Hudson’s gold floor-length number by Dior (2008) contrasted her wacky style a few years prior. Naomi Harris’ bright yellow, Emilio Pucci dress was an absolute show stopper (2012) whilst Penelope Cruz showed of her killer curves in monochrome Oscar de la Renta at the 2007 ceremony.

Christina Ricci covered up and dazzled in metallic, floor length number by Givenchy (below) at last years BAFTA’s, however Gossip Girl Blake Lively pipped her to the post the previous year (2011) with this gorgeous, fairytale-inspired Marchesca dress. British born actress Emily Blunt looked effortless in one shoulder mint green sequin gown by Mark Bower whereas Michelle William’s more demure classic dress was actually from high street favourite H&M – much to fashion critics dismay. And last but not least, the gorgeous Keira Knightly most definitely turnt heads in this classic strapless, nude Valentino gown at the 2008 ceremony.
